The stories of various movie projects based on Dusty’s life have been around for a few years now. I am aware of 4 different movies which were in development, but none has yet to be made. It’s an expensive business, and a film with music is more expensive still.
Recently rumours abounded in the press that Adele was being approached to play Dusty in another project, and this at a time when the Nicole Kidman movie seems to be taking on a life again. On top of those we have the previously reported stage musical being developed by Vicki Wickham & written by Sandi Toksvig. That is hoped to see London’s West End early next year.
April should see the publishing of yet another biography, this time by talented writer Karen Bartlett. Karen has spent months developing this book and has spoken to many friends who have not been interviewed pereviously. I expect Karen to be with us at Dusty Day 2014.
As we approach the end of 2013, and Dusty’s 50th anniversary as a solo artiste, the future looks bright & full of things for fans to look forward to.
Here is a link to a rather good take on this in the Irish Times.
