Firstly this is not a review.
The DUSTY show is not even a week into preview and it’s a time for appraisal during which the director & producers make adjustments, sometimes because of audience reaction, and with a highly technical show like this there have to be adjustments to the sound &/or vision.
The entire cast are excellent, some doing a range of parts, which is common in a small production, but the star is DUSTY. For a fan, it’s a journey through familiar territory, but presented in a new, exciting & innovative way. To an ordinary theatre goer Dusty’s talent will be a revelation, with most of her great performances featured. Modern radio fails Dusty by playing the same handful of tracks over & over again. In this setting they will be amazed at the breadth of her skills.
I will see the show again once the producers are happy and then offer a review.
The programs & brochure are beautifully made, and great value.
Overall I came out of the theatre feeling great, and positive that any small problems will be overcome in the next few weeks, leaving a piece of work that is a worthy tribute to Dusty.
